How Much Does An Abortion Cost?

The cost of your abortion will be determined when you schedule your appointment. Surgical and Medical Abortion fees differ.

ACWC is a Member of the National Abortion Federation, and we are NAF Certified for assisting patients with the cost of the abortion. You can discuss this with the Phone Counselor, or you can call
NAF directly @1-800-772-9100

Postoperative Medications

The Atlanta Center for Women's Choice follows the guidelines recommended by the National Abortion Federation. We no longer write prescriptions for opioids or narcotics for a first-trimester procedure. We recommend that you purchase an anti-inflammatory analgesic such as Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, or Tylenol that will provide optimal relief after your procedure. The Physician will provide prescriptions for infections and contraception to have filled by her local pharmacy. We STRONGLY recommend getting your prescriptions filled immediately after surgery to ensure a smooth recovery.

You will find prescription discount cards throughout the office for use in filling your prescriptions.

Rhogam is an injection required when a patient has an Rh-negative blood type. Some women are aware of their blood type before coming to our facility; others do not find out until our testing determines their RH Factor. The Rhogam Injection is NOT required per National Abortion Federation Standards of Quality Care if a patient is eight (8) weeks or less at the time of the procedure.

Rhogam is offered to patients known to be Rh negative who are over eight (8) weeks.

Any questions you may have regarding Rhogam will be answered by our Counseling or clinical staff.

An ultrasound determines the gestational age of a pregnancy, at which point a woman can decide if having a procedure is the best choice for her. The patient has the option of sitting with a counselor to discuss fees and or can consider alternatives and be referred to local OB/GYNs to continue prenatal care.

Inhalers may be required of a patient with Asthma. After speaking to a nurse, pre-operative instructions will be given. During the scheduling of the appointment the patient is advised to bring her own inhaler to avoid this fee. .

Depo Provera

The Depo Provera shot is administered post-operatively to introduce birth control into the system immediately. Other birth control options can be explored during a counseling session on the day of your appointment.
